Fuel demand hits 6-month high in Nov
India’s demand for refined petroleum products (auto fuels) hit a six-month high of 21.27 million tonnes in November, data from the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell showed. The demand grew 5.4% from 20.16 million tonnes in October. On an annual basis, the country’s fuel consumption grew by 3%.

2.396 million households covered under solar rooftop scheme PMSGMBY
New Delhi: The government’s ambitious solar rooftop scheme, PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSGMBY), has covered 2.396 million households across the country against a target of 10 million households, Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy Shripad Yesso Naik said today. “The scheme is progressing well and as on December 3, 2025, a total of 53,54,099 applications have been received on the National Portal and 19,17,698 rooftop solar systems have been installed across the country, covering 23,96,497 households,” Naik said in a written reply in Parliament.
Transmission connectivity of 6.43 GW capacity RE projects revoked since 2022
New Delhi: The Central Transmission Utility of India (CTUIL) has revoked the connectivity granted to 24 entities with around 6.43 GW renewable energy (RE) capacity in the last three years due to power developer-led delays, Parliament was informed on Monday. “Since 2022, Central Transmission Utility of India Ltd (CTUIL) has revoked connectivity of 24 grantees with a renewable energy (RE) capacity of 6343 MW. The cancellations are on account of developer delays and not due to transmission side delays,” Minister of State for Power Shripad Naik told the Rajya Sabha in a written response.
Inox Clean Energy temporarily withdraws draft papers after big pre-IPO funding; plans fresh filing
New Delhi: Inox Clean Energy has temporarily withdrawn its draft papers after raising around Rs 5,000 crore in a pre-IPO funding round, prompting the company to pull back its preliminary filings, industry sources familiar with the development said on Monday. However, the company is expected to refile its IPO papers after incorporating the latest funding details in its financials, they added.
Reliance Infra setting up integrated solar manufacturing ecosystem
New Delhi: Anil Ambani-led Reliance Group on Monday said its arm Reliance Infrastructure is setting up one of India’s most advanced, fully integrated solar manufacturing ecosystems spanning ingots, wafers, cells and modules. According to an investors presentation of Reliance Infrastructure, the manufacturing facility will have next-gen technology.
Maharashtra sets world record with 45,911 solar pumps in 30 days
Mumbai: Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has achieved a Guinness World Record by installing 45,911 off-grid solar agricultural pumps in a single month, the company announced on Monday. The achievement makes Maharashtra the fastest-deploying solar agriculture state in India and second globally only to China in scale and speed of solar pump deployment by a single administrative region. The installations were carried out under the PM-KUSUM Component B and Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana schemes.

Kolkata: In a bid to diversify its export markets, Vikram Solar, one of the leading Indian solar module manufacturers, is aiming to enter major markets like the European Union, Australia, Middle East and North Africa by the next financial year. Currently, for the company, around 15 per cent of the total order book comprises export orders, and the US is the only overseas market. “The policy landscape in the US has gone through major resets, with introduction of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, phase out of tax credits and other things. This has become a bit of a dampener for overall deployment of solar energy in the United States. We have seen that there is a reduction in deployment of solar.
